Data-Driven Design
Duration: 3 Hours
Format: In-Person or Virtual

Learn how survey data and workplace analytics can be used to better understand human behavior, uncover trends, and inform design decisions.
About this Workshop
Designers make decisions every day, but the strongest recommendations are grounded in evidence, not assumptions. This workshop introduces students to the role of data and analytics in the design process, helping them understand how research can uncover patterns in human behavior and support more informed design decisions.
Through an interactive case study and real-time data, students learn how designers translate data into insights that improve the user experience and strengthen client recommendations.
Participants will learn how to:
Conduct effective end-user research
Identify meaningful trends + insights
Connect research findings to design recommendations
Summarize insights that support informed decision making
Resources for Continued Practice
Participants receive a collection of templates, sample survey questions, example visualizations, practice files, and my custom Likert Scale Calculator. These resources are designed to extend the learning beyond the workshop, giving students practical references they can revisit and adapt for future studio projects, research, and professional practice.
